Exercising My Right to FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!

So I had a great learning experience over the last month and so did Will. It is one of those should have followed our gut feelings and paid attention to the signs situations. Will was wanting to expand the sheep herd and was feeling around from different guys to buy their sheep. David Barlow from Parawon was one of those guys. He said that he had sold everything and didn't have anything available for us. He called a few days later and said that he had a buyer fall through (warning #1) and had some available. The sheep would be #xxx dollars per head (which was over priced to begin with, warning #2). Will said that he would talk to me about it and we would get back to him. Will and I decided that we would go ahead and do it (if you have to sit on it that long and still don't feel great about it...warning #3).

We had to do a loan and so we knew it would take time. We told the guy exactly how long it would take. About a week before we were to close on the money he started calling a lot (warning #4), to the point of annoying. He wanted us to "just come and load the lambs before you close" (warning #5, who would want someone to take their stuff without having money in hand?). We wouldn't do it. Yesterday we got things done on the loan and immediately the guy wanted the sheep moved (didn't consider this a warning, who would want to feed animals any longer than they had to?).

Will goes to set up the semi based on a referral from a good friend. The guy wants to set up the semi (warning #6). He knows someone that would do a better job (aka, help him screw us). That kid was too lazy to come off the deer hunt to make some money (wonder if his wife knows?), so we ended back at driver #1. Will goes to Parawon today to load sheep. Once the semi is loaded and headed up the freeway the guy drops the bomb that he wants $xxx per head +$40. Claims that Will misunderstood him...#$%^*(*&%$%&))*%#@@!@@@$$*()(&!!!

HOW could he misunderstand you? You called my house and my husband's cell phone like 40 times in 3 weeks, are you kidding. I said, " you call it a miss understanding and the rest of the population calls it something else." Claims he wasn't trying to take advantage of us, we aren't stupid. Oh wait, we are. We didn't listen to all of the signs and warnings along the way.

So now, I have less than the amount of sheep that we were supposed to buy and am scheming on a plan. The guy shouldn't win and Will is too nice of a guy. Me, not so much. I don't like being lied to (neither does Will, but again...too nice). So the $!*#& has been set off and her blood pressure is at its max. So don't do business with David Barlow from Parawon and warn your family and friends.

Hopefully by this time next week my plan will have worked, the guy can take his ewes and do whatever he can dream of with them, and I will be happy.

P.S. Will will be happy too! VERY, VERY HAPPY!

Deer Hunt 2010

We have had sooo much excitement at our house tonight. First off, this is Alysen's first year being able to go hunting with her dad and her uncle's. She has some great stories to tell, number one being that she spots everything and her dad and uncle's couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. They need to take this hunting stuff more seriously!

This is the trophy for the year! Will called tonight so excited. He wanted all of us to bring the truck out to get his buck. I think he really just couldn't get a hold of his dad and need me to go find him. He was so excited that I couldn't understand him. We loaded up and headed along the eastside. Good thing we had Tom, there was no way that I could help Will lift it and well, to be honest, Will couldn't do it alone...

They got the deer back up to the truck and we headed home. This post is mostly for our family that we got all rallied up for the buck!!! Ok I am kidding, that is not the deer Will shot...

I just posted that picture for Gary and Josh. That buck belongs to one of them and I knew they would be missing it. Plus I wanted to rub it in when they got a look at this one...

I am pretty sure that Will's permagrin is missing because he was trying to get the right position and I just took the picture. But take my word for it, there is a permagrin. Tom is estimating that it will last a year.

I don't really know how big it is...seriously...I spend my hunts in better places doing better things like shopping!
